REOL - YoiYoi Kokon (宵々古今) (traducción al Inglés)

Evenings in the Past and Present

Welcome, come in, all you who live in the Heisei
It's a reality of beautiful dreams every night
Scared of things changing
Stopping our steps forward is our worst fear

Everyday we move on like we're teaching Kyoto's truth, we've gotten this far, you must have been the ones who invited us here
Even if that wounding voice of envy and jealousy grasps at my feet sometimes
I have just to keep on moving forward, forward

Fashion, waste, I don't know what's right anymore
I'm just trusting in you

Come, listen to our sound and dance, be merry, drink, sing
There isn't a single thing to worry about
In this world, humans are deplorable creatures, and yet somewhat lovely
Past Sekidayamachi Road, and beyond, beyond
Even if you're clinging, disoriented, and wounded, move forward, forward

(Sore sore sore sore!)

Revolution, rejecting the present, beautifying and grieving the past
Your heart will just rot from within
How sad. No matter what happens to this world that encircles us
I will pull you onto this spinning, spinning stage

Ahh, why am I so sad
Selfishness is the norm
Everyone holds their own ideals, statues of imagination
There was never any answer that could satisfy them all

The things we happen across, once-in-a-lifetime encounters
The painful things and happy things, it's all a test. Come together with us, hold my hand

Let's break away from this difficult society
Hoist the flag, the dusk has dawned

Come, get drunk on our sound, and cheer up. If you sleep you'll forget all of this anyway
In the end, nothing's changed between the present and the past
In this world, humans are miserable creatures,
And yet somehow wonderful
Raging and laughing, what strange happenstance is this

(Sore sore sore sore!)

On the deep spring days and freezing days of snow
I want to spend every moment of every day with you
These dyeing colors will continue ever onward
To see a landscape that no one has ever seen before

Lose at Hana-ichi-monme, the voice that wants, wants, wants
Win, resent, buy, choose, crying that it's not enough
Just boiling it down to countless imitations will never satisfy

We are halfway now
Take your step forward now any time

Fashion, waste, I don't know what's right anymore
I'm just trusting in you

Come, listen to our sound and dance, be merry, drink, sing
There isn't a single thing to worry about
In this world, humans are deplorable creatures, and yet somewhat lovely
Past Sekidayamachi Road, and beyond, beyond
Even if you're clinging, disoriented, and wounded, go forward, forward

(Sore sore sore sore)!

Revolution, rejecting the present beautifying and grieving the past
Your heart will just rot from within
How sad. No matter what happens to this world that encircles us
I will pull you onto this spinning, spinning stage

Ahh, why am I so sad
Selfishness is the norm
The changing past and present, the course is certain
There isn't a single thing to worry about

This was a really interesting one to translate because the actual lyrics as sung are written in a very old style Japanese that's pretty difficult to understand and also references traditional writings (like the Hyakunin Isshu) and so I used the "modern" Japanese translation seen as text in the official music video that's easier to understand for this English translation.
---------
・The "Heisei" is the current era in Japan, based on the emperor in power. It began in 1989.

・"Sore sore sore sore" (not the english word for an ache) is a meaningless chant that could be translated as something like "Yah yah yah yah!"

・Sekidayamachi Road was a western road in Kyoto that is now called Youbai Road.

・Hana-ichi-monme is a children's game in Japan which involves two teams of players that steal members from each other. The winning team represents a happy buyer that bought a "monme" (old measurement) of flowers for cheap, and the losing team a sad buyer that bought expensively.

Great job with this one nmuth, this song in particular seemed really difficult.

Thank you!! Reol must have spent so long writing the original lyrics. I can only hope I've expressed them satisfactorily. ^^
