In fact, Agnieszka, still there isn’t “Piemontese” as language for translations. I would like to change from Italian to Piedmontese but there is a rule in this site: there must be at least three songs in the same language for it to be added to the list, and this is the first Piedmontese song I’ve seen so far.
So, you may want to ask your Piedmontese friend to suggest you two more songs in his dialect… ;)
Hi Marco, and many thanks for the tip :) I wasn't aware of the rule, but I will make sure that Pie(d)montese (I think that both spellings are correct) can be featured on the list as a "legitimate" language/dialect. If "Lombard" or "Romagnol" can be there, why cannot "Piemontese"? It's a bit strange for a text that clearly doesn't look "purely" Italian to be defined as Italian. But of course, I'm all for observing the rules, so within the next few days I will try to find at least two more songs (not necessarily bothering my friend about it) in this dialect, as long as I find also their lyrics in standard Italian because I can understand some of Piemontese but not enough to translate everything directly from it. Thanks again and happy translating! :)
I wish you good work and promise that I’ll ask to add Pie(d)montese to the list. :)
(But do you know how many Italian dialects there are? At least ten, with many sub-variants. And about a dozen non-Italian languages spoken within Italian borders)
Yes, I know... or I should say "I'm (vaguely) aware of it". But I tend to get more interested in languages and/or dialects that are spoken in the regions where I have friends. Don't worry, I don't have friends everywhere (in Italy or elsewhere) so I will surely not flood you with requests for help regarding new languages/dialects ;) Thanks anyway!
This doesn’t bother me, if only there are enough songs in languages or dialects that nowadays are little spoken. For example, it isn’t easy to find many songs in Griko.

W trakcie tłumaczenia wspomagałam się tłumaczeniem na standardowy włoski. Skorzystałam również z wyjaśnień i komentarzy mojego włoskiego (piemonckiego) kolegi.
[Many thanks to my Piedmontese friend for the inspiration and help with this translation!].
