A solution to quality issues, more help for language learners

One of the issues language learners may have while translating songs is the fact that some of them may be terrified of making mistakes; the backlash of native speakers can be severe, and at the same time, if they do make mistakes and no one notices, they learn nothing in the process. Also, it does affect the general quality of the translations that we have here on the web site.
So, my proposal for that issue is for us to have a class of special translation moderators; if you're not a native speaker of the language that you're translating into, you should have an option or a checkbox that you can tick that notifies the members this class of proofreaders who speak that language and asks them to proofread your translation, correct any mistakes. At the same time, you should be able to see the parts that were replaced, so that you can recognize your own mistakes and work towards not making them again. That way the quality of translations will improve and translations will not be a monopoly of native speakers.

Yes algebra, that would be absolutely wonderful. I keep feeling the need for that, making forum posts is helpful, but I can't possible create a post for every translation that I submit, it will only help in flooding the forum. 
I hope an admin will tell us what s/he thinks.
Just my 2 cents...while I welcome corrections and suggestions, I don't like the idea of users being able to alter my translation. (concern is about "strike" feature you're talking about). I'd rather someone suggest them to me and I change it, if it's really an error. I've been studying Romanian for 2 years and you'd be surprised at the number of "wrong corrections" I've received. When I've run them by my teacher, he has told me they don't know what they're talking about and I was right in the first place.




You've simply read my mind, I remember talking about something similar in another forum topic
Some time ago I had thought of a new modality of an user. Someone that would be some kind of "counselor" on a language, or on several ones. In this case, the translator would concede points for every help given. But I don't see this happening here. Recently we had a workweek and much of our content were improved. It was some sort of "Like my translation?", of course, the people involved were very serious users. Hope it'll be back soon. I'd like to hear ideas about how to make people interact more, I think this is what will increase the quality of our content...
I agree with your suggestion. I would add one more feature for the sake of technical purposes. "Livemocha" and "busuu.com" use a additional feature which a user can strike wrong words of a sentence (The html code for this feature is called "STRIKE"), which is very useful and effective for corrections. Maybe we should need that as well.
