I’ve arrived in the small city, I see everything changed
The sun lights the scene, patched dreams
Dusty old photos full of spider webs
Old songs, old loves and summers
 
They don’t remember me, I recognize few
but the memories surround me like snakes
where are my friends, my dear friends
old company makes me ache sweetly
 
I see photos of the old times from the untamed years
Kaity’s hair has grayed, Alekos has grandchildren
And I, always leaving, lost in the masses, without roots
I search for forgotten dreams in the dust and I endure
 
But, I must leave and perhaps I’ll come next year on the same month
With a part of myself here and the other in Athens
just like the baby seeks to be nursed by its mother
and the tired traveler seeks a rest
