Μες στους δρόμους, τις πλατείες

lyrics-music: Thanasis Gaifillias

In the streets and in the squares

In the streets and in the squares*, without sunny reveries

What Im searching for, what I want, where I go, and I do not know, I would constantly ask

I would talk to the statues, constantly singing stories that would fly away**.

In the streets and in the squares, without sunny reveries.

I'm going for a little while to the moon, he will get lost and take me with him to the silence

again he walks about alone, the child without the neckpiece like on Easter day***

In the streets and in the squares, without sunny reveries.

Thank you for your translation, some corrections are
The song says "in the streets (and in) the squares"
* δίχως ήλιου φαντασίες > without sunny reveries : sunny has the same metaphorical meaning in english too
** ιστορίες που πετούσαν > stories that flew away, meaning here that the stories came and went one after the other
*** γορντάνι > neckpiece : The neckpiece inferred here is called Martis consisting of three threads (white, golden, red) twisted together. It is worn by children from the 1st of March (the first month of the year in ancient Greece) till Eastern day
μια μέρα σα Λαμπρή > a day like the Eastern day OR a festive/glorious/merry day : I corrected the greek text that wrote "σα λαμπρή" which doesn't make sense, on the other hand Λαμπρή means Eastern day

thanks, ill make the changes. σα Λαμπρή- do you mean Easter day, as in Pasxa? Also, can you explain what it signifies that the child is without the γορντάνι/neckpiece?

Lampri is the Great Sunday of Pasha, the symbolism here is that his alone roaming the streets on a festive springtime day when even nature celebrates; the boy took off his neckpiece because it's Lampri, I think it is mentioned only to designate the season the song refers to.

also, would fleeting maybe be a good translation for "pou petousan", since the word fleeting signifies something that is there only for a moment and then disappears as in flying away.

Yes fleeting too, it denotes a faster rhythm
