Nothing At All

The froth of the sea
A grain of salt or sand
A strand of hair
A hand without its owner
A moment of fear
A lost note1
An word beat out in a poem
A morning light, that small
That's me
Nothing at all

Nothing of you
Nothing of me
A breeze without air
That's me
Nothing of anyone

A snowflake
A rain that rains
A thought
A half-open abyss
A silenced word
A sorry
A step without a footprint
I'm a path that leads nowhere
A burnt out star, that small
That's me
Nothing at all

Nothing of you
Nothing of me
A breeze without air
That's me
Nothing of anyone

A breath of life
A lying truth
A winter sun
An hour of your night
A good night silence
It's a without-meaning-to
A second of your dream
I'm a step climbing your stairs
A droplet without water, that small
That's me
Nothing at all

Nothing of you
Nothing of me
A breeze without air
That's me
Nothing of anyone

nice translation :) some suggestions:

verse 1, line 1: 'the foam of the sea'
line 7: 'well-worn word' sounds a bit strange...maybe cliché/overused/dull/repetitious? (more synonyms: http://thesaurus.com/browse/well+worn?s=t)
line 8: 'a morning light this small'?... así de -> http://www.wordreference.com/es/en/translation.asp?spen=asi%20de

verse 3, line 1: could also be translated as 'a snowflake'
line 5: an unspoken word/a word unspoken
line 9: typo -> star, also I think the line should be 'una estrella apagada' which would make more sense...

verse 5, line 3: typo
line 6: 'sin querer' is more like accidentally/unintentionally...

You're quite right – I was making it a positive thing when it should be negative (to imply smallness)

Ah, yes, I was thinking as I was going through the song that "like when I was a child" was increasingly bizarre (I was focusing on the "de pequeña" rather than "así de"). I've realised it's actually running into the line, like it's saying "I am THAT small"

This is what I originally put, then I got excited about ice cream and changed it. Snowflake fits better with the theme of small things :P

Oops, I meant to be silenced, not silence. Do you think that works? Like, a silenced word is very small (where is an unspoken one is arguably non-existent).

I was wondering for the life of me what a paid star was.

Thanks for your help!

no problem (:
surely it would be 'aN overused word'?
yep 'silenced' would work too
'es un sin quererlo' would be better translated as 'it's like something done unintentionally/accidentally/without wanting to/meaning to'...
I like 'burnt out star' ;)
