The lucky day (Onnenpäivä)

traduction en anglais

The lucky day

The rain is caressing, cleaning my mind
You're there but why I'm feeling uneasy
You give your hand, I don't want to hold it
Why I don't feel anything
I haven't felt anything in a long time

I only know
that it's better for me
to sleep in a singlebed
and face the morning alone

You should belive me
This is your lucky day
And before the ground turns white
You will find a woman who is worthy of you

I'm interested in different things than I was before
And I don't know why I changed this much
You have so much, so much to give
Forgive me because I can't accept it

I only know
that it's better for me
to sleep in a singlebed
and face the morning alone

You should belive me
This is your lucky day
And before the ground turns white
You will find a woman who is worthy of you

The rain suits me, it can touch my face
I feel I'm doing the right thing
I need something fascinating

I only know
that it's better for me
to sleep in a singlebed
and face the morning alone

You should belive me
This is your lucky day
And before the ground turns white
You will find a woman who is worthy of you

You should belive me
This is your lucky day
And before the ground turns white
You will find a woman who is worthy of you

Hello! Smile I have been wondering why you have put "when" in the last line of the fourth stanza. I know that in Finnish (at least in spoken Finnish) you can say "anteeksi, kun" even if you mean a reason instead of a specific time but in English "when" is always used to express time. Here the correct linking work would be something like "for" (not being able...) or "because" (I can't, I'm not able). Actually, I think that your line would translate back to Finnish as "Anna anteeksi silloin, kun mä en pysty ottaa sitä vastaan". Just trying to help you get the right message through with your translation. Wink

Hi! Yeah, you're right about that. I'm gonna change it, thanks Smile

Actually, it's not "you will find a woman who deserves you"
It should be "you will find a woman who is worth of you" or something like that.

Oh, so true. Seems I have read the lyrics too hastily. Thanks for pointing that out!
