Tu es mon autre → traduction en anglais

You are my other
Soul or sister
Twin brother of nothing
But who are you?
You are my greatest mystery
My only close link
You wrap me in ribbon and begin me
And you keep me in sight
You are the only animal
From my lost ark
You don’t speak the language
No disappointing word
That makes you my other
Being recognized
There is nothing to understand
And pass the intruders
Who can expect waiting on nothing.
For I am the only one to hear the silence
And when I tremble
(Refrain)
You, you are my other
The strength of my faith
My weakness and my law
My arrogance and my right
Me, I am your other
If we were not here
We would be forever
And if one of us falls
The tree of our lives
We keep away from the shadow
Among heaven and fruit
But never too far from the other
Or we would be cursed
You’ll be my last second
For I am the only one to hear the silence
And when I tremble
(Refrain)
ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
And if one of us falls

I am proposing a slithly different translation.
1 - "Si l'un de nous tombe" has two meanings depending on the context. So, at paragraph 5, I agree with "And if one of us falls, the tree of our lives will keep away from the shadow"; but with three dots, the last sentence could be " And if one of us died ..."
2 - I would not have said "If we were not here, we would be forever" but "If we were not here, we would be the Infinite ", both in time, and fullness.

Kinda hard in the sense that it seems there may be a nuance to some of the particular phrases that I'm not aware of. I think the hardest portion was "Tu m'enrubannes et m'embryonnes" because it has meaning that doesn't translate succinctly. Literally, it means "you decorate me in ribbons and commence me (as in conception, the moment of life's beginning)" but editing it for syncing to the music was what I going for, in comparison I think this works well enough should one decide to sing it in English.
The other part I had problems with providing a solid meaning was "Et que passe l'intrus / Qui n'en pourra rien attendre". This just doesn't come well without drastically restructuring the lyrics. I could attempt to reword it a bit but I tried to stay as close as possible to the French while juggling just enough to give meaning in English.
Take this how you will.
