I'm not sure what to make of the difference in pronouns between the verses (singular casual you) and the chorus (plural or rather formal singular you).
The contrast with the verses does sound odd to me unless the chorus is adressed to all the youngsters who come from the highlands and islands to the big lowland cities and risk forgetting who they are and where they are from (and that's clearly what the second verse is about, although addressed only to one youngster).
It means that he/she will be happy to receive corrections, suggestions etc about the translation.
