It's confusing because mitkriegen is a seperating verb. I put in "ich kriege mit" into Google Translate and got "I get by." So maybe it means "even if you don't always get by it"? or "get with it."? Ugh, very confusing, these German verbs!!! lol. But I'm not sure "mitkriegst" means "realize."
I had actually meant to write "it lights UP only for you." "Leuchten" is the verb "to light, or to light up." So I'm not going to put down "it shines" because that has a different meaning than "it lights up," which is what "es leuchtet" means.

In this sense, "mitkreigen" means to realize, to "catch on" to something, to "get" somthing (in the sense of understanding something). Tip: when you have a verb with a separable prefix, look up the infinitive. In this case "kriege mit" would be "mitkriegen." You'll get accurate results that way.
"auch wenn's nicht immer so gelaufen ist" in this sense means "even if it doesn't always turn out that way."
A word about Google Translate: it's not reliable, and it's not allowed here at Lyrics Translate.
