The Sad Bamba (La Bamba Triste)

The Sad Bamba

I feel
like a sad bamba,
like the Marseillaise in a minor key
by a self-taught flutist with no sense of rhythm.

I feel
like a cigar producer
reading the score backwards, and furthermore,
who has lost his police dog,
the one that touches his foot
on each downbeat.

I feel
definitely
like a sad bamba.

Definitely,
like a sad bamba. I feel
like a Yugoslavian treaty into which
they cruelly forbade the entry
of La Belle Ferronière.

I feel
like Pierre the recording guy, who's laughing
for no reason because his client said,
"Let's listen absorbantly."

I feel
definitely
like a sad bamba.

Definitely,
like a sad bamba. I feel
like a foreign deer publicist*
who is said to be closer to death than Pluto Mickey.

I feel
like a silent music video
in which the only intelligent words come
from an Academy member who says,

"I'm flippin' and flashin' and I'm cool,
and I have babes
as well as balls, mama."

I feel
definitely
like a sad bamba.

Definitely
like a sad bamba.

(He feels
definitely)
like a sad bamba.

(He fells
definitely)
como una bamba triste.

I feel
like a musical instrument store
to which someone is coming
to return a guitar because
it doesn't sound like Van Halen's.

I feel
like Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons"
after a very loud count-in in German.
(Eins, zwei, drei, vier.)

I feel
definitely
like a sad bamba.

Definitely
like a sad bamba.

I feel
definitely
like a sad bamba.

Definitely
liks a sad bamba.

"The bamba" is a happy, energetic folk song from Mexico.
"The Marseillaise" is the national anthem of France.
"La Belle Ferronière" is the subject of a French folk tale. Look her up on Wikipedia.
"Pierre" is the French version of the name Peter.
* This line is confusing - the French lyrics posted, the subtitles in the video and what I hear in the video are all different.
"Pluto Mickey" - I have no idea who that is. It might be "Pluto ou Mickey" ("Pluto or Mickey").
"Academy member" - as in "the Academy Awards."
"Como una bamba triste" = "like a sad bamba" in Spanish.
"Eins, zwei, drei, vier" = "one, two, three, four" in German.
