Someone Told Me (Quelqu’un m’a dit)

Angol translation

Someone Told Me

Someone told me our lives are not worth much
They pass in an instant like the roses wilt
Someone told me that the time that slips is a bastard
That he makes coats from our sorrows
But someone told me...

That you still loved me
It's someone who told me that you still loved me
Would that be possible, then?

Someone told me that destiny doesn't care about us at all
That he gives us nothing and promises us all
It seems that happiness is within reach,
So one takes the hand and one finds oneself crazy
But someone told me...

That you still loved me
It's someone who told me that you still loved me
Would that be possible, then?

But who is it who told me that always you loved me?
I don't remember anymore it was late in the night
I still hear the voice, but I no longer see the features
"He loves you, it's secret, don't tell him that I told you"
You see someone told me...

That you still loved me, someone truly told me...
That you still loved me, would that be possible, then?

(refrain)
Que tu m'aimais encore

Pretty good. For once you rendered "se moquer" as "do not care", which is closer than "makes fun" in my opinion.

however :

one takes the hand -> more like "one reaches out"
someone truly told me -> did someone really tell me...
