Hi science man, since you asked, here some ideas. There are some other points, but I'm going to bed. Keep posting Smile

"que me va mal" = "it feels so bad" or "I'm doing so bad".
de nuevo = once again
no habia sentido lo que logro sentir = What I'm feeling had no sense before
hago lo que sea por ti = I do whatever it takes for you
encedida = turned on, burning, etc...

This paragraph can look like this:
Yo quiero tenerte de nuevo de desayuno
[I want to have you once again for breakfast]
hacernos el amor en nuestro espacio solitos tu y yo
[and to make love in our place, you and me, all alone]

wow  I can't believe it I would've never guessed that some of those sentences mean that. "e.g. "va" will always=ir=to go" to me
Well I maybe making some bad grammar translations but I am getting two things out of doing this constantly. 1. increase in vocabulary and 2. increase in grammar.

I did it wrongly too, the other way is ok, but it doesn't match to the context Sad

no habia sentido lo que logro sentir
[I never felt this I can feel now before]

And I think "I want to have you again. To make love for breakfast..." is more correct. Sad

Hi, sorry to butt in.

I corrected some misspellings in the source lyrics while listening to the actual song. The part with ?? is a word I couldn't understand, no matter how many times I listened to it. It has to be a name though =_=.

Some problems with these kind of songs are when people writing down the original lyrics substitute a word by its phonetic equivalent or a contraction like 'k' or 'q' instead of 'que/qué' or 't' instead of 'te' (like writing 'u' instead of 'you' or '2' instead of 'too', etc.); it can confuse translators. And when they omit 'r' or some other letters it can alter the meaning of the sentence.

Yes, that would be correct Smile

I hope I don't change my mind tomorrow ...

Well, I have the feeling that translating from a language to the native one is very effective way of learning. But my favourite trick is reading and reading a lot. I casually try to translate songs in Russian when I am confident with the structure and sintax, which rarely happens Sad, but doing the math, reading is more effective than translating songs, to me, because we face much more contexts and rich vocabulary.

I also use Google in my readings, currently, I am finishing "PS. I love you" in Russian. I translate it with Google and just check the words that are too exquisite in the context. I like reading because we happen to face the same words and structures several times and this helps keep them in mind Smile

Algebra is right, reading a lot is the key Wink

But be sure to read aloud! That's what I do, so not only am I looking at the words, but speaking them and hearing them, so that all things start to come naturally in a foreign language.

Good point Smile

science man     október 8th, 2010

lol ok thanks guys. My local city library has book in Spanish but I'd feel weird to check one out because I'm against them having in there.

Why on earth would you be against your library having materials in foreign languages? I feel so offended right now; I work at a library and I treasure our foreign language collection. I would probably never get to read (or slowly struggle through) Russian novels without those books.

science man     október 11th, 2010

i would agree with you if the distribution of the foreign language books were equal but unfortunately they're not the foreign language section is a small section but Spanish covers most of that section. I feel really bad for the languages which there're only one or two books of such as the language which is half of my heritages tongue (Italian)
