Kannst du dich eigentlich noch ernstnehmen?
Beschwerst dich wirklich über jeden?
In diesem Land passt dir fast gar nichts,
Was es nicht umsonst gibt.
Du gehst auch nicht so gerne wählen;
Kein' Bock, dich aus dem Bett zu quälen.
Die Politik nervt dich zu sehr.
Selbst was verändern? "Viel zu schwer!“
Hört ihr nicht die Siren'n?
So kann es nicht weitergeh'n!
Wir wollen immer mehr,
Nur wissen nicht, woher.
Schalt jetzt mal um auf uns'ren Sender!
Was uns nicht passt, wollen wir verändern.
Wir haben kein Bock auf nur Beschwerden,
Wollen noch was tun, bevor wir alt werden.
Vielleicht ist es nicht immer leicht,
Bevor man irgendwas erreicht,
Doch du bist selbst nur, was du tust,
Nicht, worauf du dich nur ausruhst!
Hört ihr nicht die Siren'n?
So kann es nicht weitergeh'n!
Wir wollen immer mehr,
Nur wissen nicht, woher.

Allinea i paragrafi
traduzione in Inglese

Are you actually still able to take yourself seriously
You really complain about everyone
Almost nothing in this country suits you
What is not for free
You also don't like too much to go to vote
You couldn't be buggered to struggle out of your bed
Politics are much too annoying for you
Change anything by oneself?...“much too hard“
Do you hear the sirens
Things can't go on like this
We want more and more
We only don't know where from
Now just turn over to our station
We want to change what doesn't suit us
We are fed up with complaints only
We want to do something before we get old
Maybe it's not always easy
Before you achieve something
But you are only what you do
And not only on what you rest!!!

Commenti dell’autore:

last line refers to: "sich auf seinen Lorbeeren ausruhen" - "to rest on one's laurels"

We appreciate those helpful Author comments!

This song is from Revolverheld's 2005 self-titled CD.

If I may respectfully suggest some alternative translations:

line 5: alt: "You don't much like to vote."
line 6: "You couldn't be buggered..." If someone was being buggered, why would he want to get out of bed? alt: "No battering ram is able to harass you out of bed."

I hope these alternatives are helpful.
