Another suggestion: It would be great if on song pages etc. there was a button "add to collection" where one could choose to add it to one of one's collections.
[@lt], it is browser independent in my case, I saw this behaviour in Firefox (the last version, it updates itself frequently) at work and Yandex.Browser (17.11.0.2193) at home.
......
Now I've tested it a little and if in a new collection I create just one item, no suggestions will appear, but if I add the second item, suggestions start to appear in both.
I can't find correspondences of these sentences to translate ( in the Azerbaijani interface): "Collection item can be any of the following - Artist, Song, or Translation. You can search by name, or paste URL of the page you want to add to the collection", "Add collection item", "items*", "collaspe", "created by".
It will be great to be able to override videos for songs/translations. For example, in my contest collection I want to have the live performances while songs usually use the studio versions.

Usually all Eurovision songs (not Junior) have live performances in the comments' section. Maybe, we should add them to junior eurovision songs too?
This won't be the same. I mean, to watch them all, one will need to open each song's page then scroll to comments and only then play the live performance. Although it wouldn't hurt to have live versions in the comments, my proposal allows to have them all on one page.
It's strange. It is possible to add an item without linked content, but with a description, however it won't be displayed when viewing the collection. Was it intentional?
was about to create a collection for the songs from eurovision 1963...
half the songs missing. missing videos.. worked a bit on it. then deleted it.
makes sense only if you want it really bad. or if all the songs are already onboard.
IF they were entered correctly... *cough*
Just thought of something. What do you think of adding a note to songs that have been added to collections to say something like 'Song included in the following collections: (x), (y), (z), (...)', listing a couple (maybe only three) of them.
I think it would save a lot of time to be able to previously set the number of item boxes, instead of clicking "add item box" every time, especially for collections that cointain a lot of songs. I noticed that the more item boxes you have, the more it will take to load a new one, as the system needs to recount them all again.
Today I went through my most recent 100 translations or so and sorted most of their lyrics into collections.
Seems like I have filled the whole list on the front page and then some.
I still have some more collections started (but not added yet since I so far found less than 3 songs for them), but if someone desires to make the front page a bit more diverse...
It would be nice if one could safe collection drafts, though - while collecting songs for the collections I added today, I always feared that my browser might crash with all the open tabs...

Well, you might want to thank someone for his/her effort without actually liking the content of a certain collection.
That makes sense, but it would be quite a specific exception.
I think there is no other content here that can receive both likes and thanks.
And it's not even "only" these 2 options, collections can also be put into favorites - seems like a bit of an overkill.
Also it'll be great to have some sorting inside collections. But it can be a nightmare to implement, although a few additional named fields may be a solution to provide a custom sorting by collection's author.
If I put an artist into my favorites and a new song gets added to it, I get a notification.
I suggest something similar also to happen for collections, if it isn't the case yet.
Also, I can still "like" my own collections and also put them into my favorites.

Yeah, that'd be great!
In one of my collections, I've already got 50+ items. Now, when trying to add several new items, that doesn't work 'cause it always says: "Could not load site." I have to save my collection after each single item, then "edit collection" again, add another item, save, edit, add, save… That takes too much time.
I guess that programming LT is very difficult and intense, and the admins are doing a great job, but the problem mentioned above is pretty annoying. (Perhaps, "autosaving form" like in songs would help?)
Anyway, thanks for the support! (And please don't feel offended by my comment, that's not my intention.)
Update: Now, I cannot even add a single item anymore… :(
My suggestions: What about seperating large collections into several pages (like here in the forum topics)? Or when adding new items, all other items that have already been saved earlier will be hided (e.g. when translating songs, you don't see the other translations - maybe there can be anything similar for collection items)?
We've made some adjustments for large collections. So, if your collection contains 30+ items, it won't be sortable by drag-and-drop, but "Sort" option will appear next to the "Edit" tab. It will make editing faster.
In addition, you can now create collections of collections, which could be helpful for really large and/or related collections.
Two things:
- If you add an artist to a collection, it doesn't appear anywhere in their pages. I suggest adding this under 'Wiki', if it's possible.
- Add rules about translation. Of course, people can create collections of whatever theme they want, but there should be something like 'Collections that promote hate, discrimination, violence towards any group of people aren't allowed and will be removed.'
I noticed that while if lyrics are in a collection, that will get mentioned both on the lyrics page and on the pages of their translations, nothing comparable happens if a translation is in a collection.

And another bug: I can like my own collections (but won't get a notification for doing so).
The number of views on the collection list on my profile isn't shown on smaller screens.
This one is fixed, hopefully.
I think it would be great if we could save our collections as drafts and publish them whenever we want.

In the collections in the profile collections without images get an image of the item above.

BTW just found these lists right here:
http://4lyrics.eu/eurovision/esc-1981/
which are really awesome for the purpose..

This page: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/collections have its button ("Collections") at the beginning, but all other pages have it at the end.

It seems a bit redundant that collections can receive both likes and thanks. What would be the exact difference?

In https://lyricstranslate.com/en/collections
Maybe there could be a way of listing collections by number of items, author or title/alphabetically.
Also it'll be great to have some sorting inside collections. But it can be a nightmare to implement, although a few additional named fields may be a solution to provide a custom sorting by collection's author.
And displaying not only view's number but the number of thanks (and likes?) in desktop and mobile modes would also be great.
My comment was more of a joke, to be honest.
And what is the page size for the collections? There is already 91 of them and no pages.

Collections now can be saved as drafts. Saved drafts will be available on the corresponding page, beneath translations drafts.
My drafts page (https://lyricstranslate.com/en/drafts) now gives me "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later."
So does mine.

Great, thanks!
So does mine.
And mine...
And mine...
Same here, and I haven't even added any collection drafts yet. Also adding one as a test made no difference.
Drafts page has been fixed.
Thanks a lot! *thumbs_up*
Yeah, that'd be great!

Thanks, that will probably prove quite helpful!
Sciera dreamed about it, you've done it :)
And I didn't even suggest it here, only used hyperlinks.
Nah, the admins are just omnipresent here ;)
There could be a 'Collections' button in the main page for unregistered/unlogged users - close to the already existing ones.
Something like:
Artists / Songs / Translations / Collections / Requests / Community / Languages / Help
Done!

[@Sciera] E.g. this translation https://lyricstranslate.com/en/gobayyr-%D2%A1%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%B0%D0%B9%D1... is in a collection, which is mentioned on the page. Or maybe we misunderstood your question?

Strange, I must have somehow overlooked that even when using my browser's search function...
Nevermind then!
First thing - done.
Second - our ground rule (first rule here https://lyricstranslate.com/en/lt-site-rules) applies to collections, too.
Later collections were added to the list.
Hi,
i wanted to know if this is possible to nominate other users to be able to modify and participate at the improvment of a collection.
I posted before in a new thread and got this answer
link: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/forum/report-problem-ask-question/modify-...
Thx
My BIG QUESTION is, how do you add a song to a collection? Or am I the only one who doesn't know how?
