The Best for Me And My Friends

The sun sets in the streets
The voices get the sound from twilight
We're playing ball against facade
And just like that my innocence goes up in smoke

And Floridor, yes, and Celestin *1
They're asking: What do you want, my boy?
I say: The best
For me and my friends. Yes, yes, yes

Billy was on speed in Herstedvester *2
Approx. seventeen days on cuckoo cuckoo
There was disco music and screaming guests. Yes, yes, yes
And old friends on a trip

And Floridor, yes, and Celestin
They're asking: What do you want, my boy?
I say: The best
For me and my friends. Yes, yes, yes

The jackals started to laugh
When the first windows broke
And the boys walked on line
In crepe-de-chine and girly clothes

And Floridor, yes, and Celestin
They're asking: What do you want, my boy?
I say: The best
For me and my friends. Yes, yes, yes

The nerves like glass on valium. Yes, yes, yes
Ice skating on Bagsværd lake
Love in cold cars. Yes, yes, yes
And one is bloody afraid to die

And Floridor, yes, and Celestin
They're asking: What do you want, my boy?
I say: The best
For me and my friends. Yes, yes, yes

This was great. Thank you. I lived in Danmark for two years ('76 to '78) and this song has special meaning for me because it came out just as I was leaving behind dear friends.

I would add a few changes/suggestions ...

"Og så med et der ryger min dyd" translates easier as "And just like that my innocence goes up in smoke"
"pip pip" would translate as "cuckoo cuckoo"
"discofil-musik" I think would just mean "disco music" as the band appeared long after 1977.
And the equivalent to "resteniler" (at least in North America) would be Valium.

I could never translate "sgu" as it really doesn't work in English ("bloody?")

Tusind tak!
