Hi there,
I'm a long-time user of this website, which I love. I've never had cause to ask for help with anything before, but I've been trying to get the full lyrics to this song (Brudd, by Silje Vige) for a while. I understand bits and pieces but not the whole thing. I'd really appreciate any help you could give me. I don't even necessarily want a translation, just the text would be great.
Here's a link.

Thanks in advance!

How can you be a "long-time user" and not know that you should enter a transcription request, so enter one and be patient

Well that was rude. I think my request was polite enough, but I'll go about due processes in any case. I should hope that you are not as curt in real life.

Maybe you're confusing blunt with rude I'm calling a spade a spade and I made clear to you the proper way to enter a request and that if you're a long-time user then I'm newbie here. And in real life I'm a cynic and just as forthright

To be frank, you actually did come across as a little rude, even though I know that probably wasn't your intention. If you look at his joining date you'll see that he is a new user. When he says he is a long-time user I think he means he has just used the translations and not really interacted with the website's function.

I don't know what's your aim, but I think that blowing hot air is rude whereas I was blunt and sarcastic but to the point and helpful so please don't guess my intention. There are users who deleted their accounts and later created new ones, not to mention users with multiple accounts, so account creation date doesn't mean much, in any case as I already said anyone who's an old user even unregistered would have noticed by now the request transcription feature. A user who browsed a few dozen translations over the years isn't an old one regardless their age. I respect users with contribution to the site and appreciate users who go by the book as opposed to users who aren't following the rules especially when they're selling sugar honey ice tea demanding more attention to their requests. My aim is keeping the site clean and tidy and providing help so that users will have a better experience and useless threads like this one will be an exception, so before telling me off please tell me where I'm wrong

I just did that, but as it seems that I didn't explain it well enough I might as well go details. You questioned whether or not he has been around this website for a long time because of his lack of knowledge about how this website functions, which can be interpreted as rather rude. And because some people delete their old account( s ) / create multiple accounts, it doesn't mean that he is one. And everyone can make mistakes; Just because you've been around for a long time, it doesn't mean that you know everything, especially when you haven't interacted with the website's functions. And who said anything about anyones age? Because I most certainly didn't.
And I really don't see your point with "selling sugar honey ice tea" is. And if you're actually providing help for a better experience, don't you think it would be a good idea not being "blunt and sarcastic" because that can easily be seen as rude behavior.

I never said I know everything but I know hot air when it's blowing my way and I was blunt with a user who was asking for it and never took the time to read the site's instructions, while you're just guessing what the user meant to say and what I meant to do and still haven't pointed out what was wrong with my first comment, doubting the user's oldness?

Now you're the one guessing what I meant. I never referred to you when I said "it doesn't mean that you know everything," but stewienash instead. And what you did that was rude was to be "sarcastic and blunt" when someone makes an honest mistake. That is not to, as you said it yourself, "help so that users will have a better experience".
And I'm not blowing hot air against you, I just agreed with stewienash that your rude tone was really uncalled for.

But my point is that you simply presumed that he probably had "multiple accounts / deleted his old account", which apparently makes it okay to be "blunt and sarcastic" as you correct him.

And the reason why I "guessed" what you meant in my first post was actually to not offend you. Apparently, that did more harm than good.

I said stewienash and not you was saying empty words. If the user asked just for a transcription I'd answer please use the transcription feature as I did many times before, since they said "I'm a long-time user blah blah blah" I changed my reply accordingly.
