This is my own translation. I tried to keep the word order and grammatical structure as much as possible, so that the poetry can still come through in the translation.

BTW, I notice an error in many of the online French transcriptions, where they have "L'ont soudain consoler" - it should be "L'ont soudain consolé," which sounds identical but is grammatically correct and makes the meaning of the line clear.
