’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear

Through many dangers, toils and snares,

The Lord has promised good to me,

He will my Shield and Portion be,

But God, who called me here below,

الذي انقذ تعيساً مثلي !
ذات مرة كنت ضالاً، لكن الآن لقد وُجِدْت
كنت أعمى ، لٰكنني الآن أرى
لقد كانت الرحمة التي عَلَمَت قلبي الخوف،
والرحمة التي أبعدت كل مخاوفي
كم كانت تلك الرحمة ثمينة في الساعة التي آمنت فيها لأول مرة
خلال العديد من المخاطر، التعب والفخاخ
لقد أتَيْت بالفعل
هذه الرحمة أوصلتني آمناً حتى الآن
والرحمة سوف تقودني إلى المنزل
لَقد وعدني الرب بالخير لي
كَلِمَتُه هي ضمان أملي
سيكون الرب درعي ونصيبي
مادامت الحياة باقية
أجل، عندما يفنى هذا الجسد والقلب،
وتتوقف الحياة المُميتة
سوف أمتلك، داخل هذا الحِجاب،
