By the Prosthetics Factory Fence

By the prosthetics factory fence
You laid your hand on my shoulder
And said that life was something easy
But I could not agree with you

On a paved-over meadow we stood
You asked me to take love light like a wind
But I was so young and foolish
And tears ran down my cheek

Because who can forget that the stars will some time become stones
And who knows how long we have together
In a shut down port town full of distrust and the unsustainable
I met my love

"Some time" should be "some day."
Instead of "concreted" you could say "paved-over."

This is sort of a parody of Yeats' "Down by the Salley Gardens:"

Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.
In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears

"Should be" should be "could be"

OK, I admit it. "Some time" is a rather British and old-fashioned way of saying "some day." Since I'm an American it sounds quite odd to me, but I found quotes from things like Nicolae Tesla, the King James Bible, and Bram Stoker's Dracula using it. In contemporary American English we say a thing will sometimes do it if in some cases it does it but in other cases it doesn't, and we say a thing will some day do it if it will do it in the future but we don't know when.
