I Want to Be Happy

I only know that I don't know anything, to where I'm going, what will be
I don't know what will happen in the end of the road, I don't know
I only know that I want you know, we'll think of tomorrow later
I only know that this love devours each thought we have

I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy

I don't know how much time is left, if it will be over in 20001
I only know is that suffering is useless and that I was made to love you
I only know that you're beautiful, having you is so good
I know everything, I know even more, I know that I want you more at each time

I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
Oh...

I don't know if there's life on Mars, it won't make any difference for me
I only know that love is an art, I'm talking of an endless love
I don't know how many grains of sand there are from the harbor to the sea
I don't know if this love is a dream, but if it is, you'd better not wake me up

I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
I want to be happy
Happy

It actually makes sense for me to be "I want happiness" (sorta like "I want peace and quiet") like someone wishing to have "happiness in their lives", so I think you're correct in having translated it as "I want to be happy".

Thanks for the comment, Ellen. In Portuguese, it's a normal (and correct, though not formal) way of expressing feelings - but I was not sure about English. ;)
