Indecent proposal

Hi, they call me Romeo, nice to
Meet you
You look so good, I'll be straight with you,
It doesn't matter who he is
Tell me if you have ever done something
Naughty
An adventure is more amusing if it smells of danger

And if I invite you to a drink
And I get close to your mouth, if I steal you
A one little kiss, we'll see if you don't come with me
What would you say if I seduced you in my car tonight?
Let the glasses fog and the rule is to enjoy
If I disrespect you, I don't blame alcohol, if I pull up your skirt
Would you give me the consent
To measure your sensibility, put your body into play
If it seems prudent to you this indecent proposal

Come on, allow me to appreciate your nakedness
This martini'll calm your shyness
An adventure is more amusing if it smells of danger

And if I invite you to a drink
And I get close to your mouth, if I steal you
A one little kiss, we'll see if you don't come with me
What would you say if I seduced you in my car tonight?
Let the glasses fog and the rule is to enjoy
If I disrespect you, I don't blame alcohol, if I pull up your skirt
Would you give me the consent
To measure your sensibility, put your body into play
If it seems prudent to you this indecent proposal

I'm back, it feels good to be king

Hey you I know what you like
You and I me and you dance bachata* and then
You and I me and you ended up in bed
You and I me and you dance bachata and then
You and I me and you ended up in bed

Oh chichi, cry, guitar, cry

before 'you and I, me and you' he sings 'how about if..'
great song and your tranlastion is very good. I especially like that you consider the fact that people might not know Bachata. :) good job

Who ever wrote this needs to learn English and Spanish a little bit more.. The English version does not make sense.

Well maybe you could let me know what are the mistakes in English instead of telling me to learn it better.

que bien te vez te adelanto no me
importa quien sea el

proper translation:
you look so good, ill be upfront i dont
care who he is

una aventura es mas divertida si huele a peligro

proper translation: an adventure is more fun if it smells of danger

y me acerco a tu boca si te robo
un besito a ver no te enojas conmigo

proper translation:
and i get close to your lips if i steal
a kiss, okay, don't get angry with me

permiteme apreciar tu desnudes
relajate que este martini calmara tu timidez

proper translation:
allow me to appreciate your nakedness
relax, this martini will calm your shyness

Hay chichi llora guitarra llora

proper translation:
oh chichi, cry, guitar, cry!

those are better translations of the song.

Hi. Thank you for proofreading my translation.

1) About this: "you look so good, ill be upfront i dont
care who he is", no, I don't agree with you. There he says that she looks very good, but that he doesn't care about some "he", probably her boyfriend or something.

2) "an adventure is more fun if it smells of danger"--> this is not gramatically correct, comparation of adjective "fun" is "funnier" and not "more fun". If you don't believe, check here, I made sure: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/funnier.

3) "and i get close to your lips if i steal
a kiss, okay, don't get angry with me"--> I accepted this suggestion and adjusted it to one that sounds more natural to me according to Spanish lyrics.

4) "allow me to appreciate your nakedness
relax, this martini will calm your shyness"--> okay, seems correct to me

5) "oh chichi, cry, guitar, cry!"--> okay

Thanks again for your suggestions. By the way, is English or Spanish your native language and if not, how good you speak them?

Translations, do not always go verbatim, especialy with spainsh (its often a bit backwards) CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING

#1 the Spainish version is off, more accurate lyrics at...
lyrics: http://www.lyricsmania.com/propuesta_indecente_lyrics_romeo_santos.html
All about Romeo Santos: http://www.musictory.com/music/Romeo+Santos

1) "que bien te vez...................................te adelanto no meimporta quien sea el"
"You look so good," is fine but "other is not Important to me who is he" does not translate well either way.
*** he's not saying 'other'. 'adelante' is more aside/by/next to her http://www.spanishcentral.com/translate/adelante
Hes basically stating that "whoever shes with it doesn't matter who he is.*** so obviously its a guy shes with
"que bien te vez, te adelanto no me importa quien sea el"
"You look so good, next to you doesn't matter me who he is" (doesn't matter whose next to you)

2) "una aventura es mas divertida si huele a peligro" sounds better when translated to "an adventure is more-fun/funner if it smells like/of danger/dangerous"
*** 'mas'= more, 'Divertido' can have various translations, like exciting, entertaining and fun (you could combine 'mas divertida' into 'funner' but using 'amusing' does not fit well with the context of the song/lyrics what they're doing is enjoyable/fun but not amusing, its a seduction not a fart joke... http://www.spanishcentral.com/translate/divertido ""***

^^^Also BIG diffrence between "Si te invito una copa" AND
"I'll buy you a drink"
the song title is 'Propuesta Indecente' meaning 'Indecent proposal' so when the singer says "SI te invito una copa" he is ASKING
"IF I invite you to a cup/drink/beverage..." and then he gives the rest of his whole proposal/what ifs, otherwise if you cut that out it sounds very presumptuous, and changes the whole tone of what hes ASKING/proposing to her, especially since its the chorus/title of the song...
**** http://www.spanishcentral.com/translate/si "SI" in this case translating to "IF" ****

Theres also a typo in "Si te invito una copa ^si te^ y me acerco a tu boca si te robo"
does not have ^si te^ in the song, so removing it would properly translate from
"Si te invito una copa y me acerco a tu boca si te robo un besito"
"If I invite you to a drink, and I get close to your lips, if I rob/steal a kiss..."

Spanish is my Second/First language, both parents are Spain/South American, Mother is Spanish teacher, grammer and context is everything.

surtursurtur    土, 14/12/2013 - 08:39

the spanish translations are off for starters (keeping the symbols also help better understand what is being asked/said)

http://www.musica.com/letras.asp?letra=2145650
http://www.lyricsmania.com/propuesta_indecente_lyrics_romeo_santos.html

Context is everything and the Translation is off and takes the whole sensual tone of seduction out

I’m back
Its feels good to be king.

Hey,
Listen,
I know what you like.

How about you and I
Me and you
Bailamos bachata. (Bailamos- we'll dance bachata)
Y luego (and later)
You and I
Me and you
Terminamos en la cama (we'll continue in the bed)
(Que rico). (how delicious)

How about you and I,
Me and you
Bailamos bachata
(Ay bailamos bachata)
Y luego
You and I
Me and you
Terminamos en la cama (we'll continue in the bed)
(Terminamos en la cama). (we'll continue in the bed)

How about it you and I (You and I)
Me and you (Me and you)
You and I (You and I)
Me and you (You)
You and I (You and I)
Me and you
(I’m a bad boy)
Me and you (You).

(Ay chi chi
Llora guitarra
Llora).

Me llaman is "they call me" not "me llamo" which would translate to "i'm called/my name is..."

&^&^&^ the lyrics are actually "al ver que no vas conmigo. " NOT "a ver no te enojas conmigo"
so he's not asking her not to be upset at him, he's tempting that he bets she will come with him "al ver que " lets see if "no vas conmigo" you don't go with me"
so he's being tempting and saying that if he steals a kiss, hes challenging her to go with him

Hi. Thank you very much for proofreading my translation and helping me with it!

I've corrected the most of your suggestions, the rest is a matter of style.
I have a question for you: Are you a native Spanish speaker?
