When we're together

You and I, in the darkness hand in hand, and trust.
There, below - meetings and partings, leave everything.
Fragile planet. You know, about this, -
Like a handful of crystal.
Every moment of joy is eclipse,
And love, love ...

Let's go with you and look from afar,
That the planet is vulnerable slightly, that we wanna save it, oh-oh-oh!
Closed our eyes! Only skyward! The stars will tell us the route,
All the keys to the dream will be given - just hold tight for me, hold on.

Me and you. It's not difficult in a whirlpool of words for you s. Hey!
I'm hostage of your beauty, and I'm ready.
Rainbow is above us. Make a wish, - I already made it myself.
You are my planet! Do you know about this, you're my love.

Let's go with you and look from afar,
That the planet is vulnerable slightly, that we wanna save it, oh-oh-oh!
Closed our eyes! Only skyward! The stars will tell us the route,
All the keys to the dream will be given - just hold tight for me, hold on.

Let's go with you and look from afar,
That the planet is vulnerable slightly, that we wanna save it, oh-oh-oh!
Closed our eyes! Only skyward! The stars will tell us the route,
All the keys to the dream will be given - just hold tight for me, hold on.

Hey, just came accross the translation and although my Russian is a bit rusty, may I suggest to review some lines and maybe ask for another opinion

Давай мы с тобой улетим и посмотрим из далека, which is translated :Let's go with you and look from afar,
But улетим means to fly away.
I would translate: Come, let's fly away together and watch from far away (or from afar)...
That our planet can be hurt so easily, and that we want to spare it (our planet) from this (to be hurt) .

Закрыли глаза! - We closed our eyes (it is definitely the past tense) Close your eyes would be Закры or Закрыте глаза...

Thanks for considering it or commenting why I am wrong with my interpretation.

Hi. Well, technically ur right. But I alwasy proceed from the meaning. Literally yep, "come fly away", but here not meaning fly like on the plane or by wings or smth else. Here meanings go away from smth place. Leave this place.
What about second phrase, yep. I'm not be so attentive and saw more useless phrase "close ur eyes" which translate onto Russian in imperative mood "закрой глаза". Here isn't past tense. It looks like. It's imperative mood in third person, and in Russian past tense different from imperative mood in third person only this sign: "!". And we can see it. But ur right, it translate onto English like u say. I correct it now.
Thank u. :*

I think also that (мы с тобой) should be translated as (I'm with you). Right?

Eagles HunterEagles Hunter    Sábado, 09/09/2017 - 16:03

But in everyday's usage, English native speakers do not say: (We, me and you) in sentences where Russians use (мы с тобой). Do they?

AntonWinterAntonWinter    Sábado, 09/09/2017 - 16:34

"Мы" in this context = "I'm with you"
"Мы с тобой" in this context ~= " We - I and you - smth..."
This is very hard explain for a non-native.

Eagles HunterEagles Hunter    Sábado, 09/09/2017 - 16:06

I agree. And as I non-native speaker I know that: (Мы с тобой= Я с тобой) but is more intimate. Isn't that so?

AntonWinterAntonWinter    Sábado, 09/09/2017 - 16:25

I try to explain the emotion shade of these words:
1. "We - I and you - smth"
"We" is like one. She and He - are like one soul.
2. "I and you/ I'm with you"
This is .... sounds like a everyday phrase.

English language can not transfer the sense how this is in Russian language.

Когда мы с тобой - when we are together

Just tell me what am I need 2 do?

BratBrat    Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 14:44

"Мы с тобой" in spoken Russian means "We, together, led by me (or us) or by my (our) intention". It can be said on behalf of one person, or a group.
Example: "Завтра мы с тобой пойдём по магазинам." "Tomorrow I'll (we'll) take you to shopping."
There is an idiom in Russian "Ты да я, да мы с тобой" meaning "Only we and nobody else" (meaning some closed group of people).

If u all can't decide what translation is right, maybe my variant may exist too?

BratBrat    Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 15:10

Конечно! Просто иностранцы интересуются русским языком... А на примере этой песни можно им объяснить, как понимать "полулитературный русский". ;)

TiborTibor
   Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 15:20

Я попытался, но вместо того, чтобы прислушаться к русскоговорящему человеку, они начали продавливать свои варианты... Буквально вторым комментарием из всех, я объяснил человеку кратко и понятно, какая разница между императивом и прошедшим временем в третьем лице. Он понял... Но другие будто не видели и по новой развели эту муру... Меня это уже раздражает... Ты на хорошем счету, чем я, можно как-нибудь ускорить удаление этого перевода?

BratBrat    Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 15:40

Боюсь, что нельзя. :( Придётся терпеливо объяснять господам и дамам все сложности перевода. "Каждое мгновенье радости затмение". ;)

AntonWinterAntonWinter    Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 15:59

Domingo, 10/09/2017 - 13:26

Tagir, "we're with you" means something like "we support you"

Well. Correct phrase translate literally looks like this: The planet is fragile. Did you know about it? The last part I agree.
Nope, because look and see has a little bit different meanings. Also, like смотреть and видеть.
No need translate literally. I always proceed from the meaning and not from technic. Here "сберечь" means like slogan of greenpeace "Save whales!". They don't speak "Preserve whales!"
There's one person here which like read me for filth for my translations. And this phrase I translate like he loves to translate. It's funny, cuz he is one of editors of this site... I'm sayin. I'm just sayin...
Please, look at my first reply. It goes the second overall. I explane why I tanslate like this. P.S. to my reply: sometimes it's hard to understand not russianspeaking people nuance of Russian speech. Sorry bout it.

TiborTibor
   Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 00:30

P.S. I don't need to understand the Russian to translate their speech onto English. Cuz it's ma origin language, so I understand what are they talkin bout n meanin, so...

Hello, first and foremost, I've NOTHING to do with Russian, but I decided to weigh in on this conversation since it generated so many comments. So, the state of this comment section is simply.. sad, for lack of a more neutral word. If this translation has its flaws, why didn't anybody made another one yet? I agree that we should try first to locate and communicate the translator's errors, exchanging knowledge as a bonus, but I've this thing that if I realize that the translation has so many small mistakes or maybe some big blatant mistakes, or even some aesthetic choices I would never choose as a translator, I will simply do my own version of it, accepting that the first translation has its own qualities, but that I'd rather provide the end users with a second view (a more refined one, if I say so myself, for the way I see it there's no other reason to add a second translation).

So, this translation doesn't *seem* to be a near "perfect" one, otherwise, it wouldn't have generated so much heat and polluted the comment section the way it did, and I think that's bad because it takes the focus away from what is really important: the music and the lyrics. I've come here to know what this great song is about, and now I don't really know what to think about it, and that's quite frustrating, please (to everyone commenting on this thread) come to a consensus about this one, or just provide your own translation (and let the ratings do the job). Thank you.

Take it easy, buddy! This song is about nothing, just like the rest 99.9% of pop. The original lyrics is riddled with grammatical and style errors, and the translation simply reflects it. ;)

U know what. No one will do another translation cuz translations will be as much as existing here subscribers, which knows Russian n English. But everyone r afraid, afraid of too much bullshits in their side which I endure now, made this translation. I don't wanna say that my translation is perfect, I have a little mistakes made by inattention, BUT!.. Everyone likes to see the mistakes of others and pointed on them, but not their own. In the other side, everyone wants to seem smarter than they really are. They didn't see the obvious and playing the game "who will first leave the mistake report", even if this report have been made many moons ago and many times... What am I talkin bout: I leave the explanation in the second comment overall. Explanation the difference between imperative in third person and past tense in Russian. But what we have now? One for another, again and again people ask this f**king question "why?". And some take offense at me when I ask to see the beginning of comments. Anyway, the biggest part of this bullshits are... We, Russian, calls it "флуд". I dunno how it will be in English. Call it "too much talkin bout nothin". Bullshits is shorter. And the funny thing: no one see the fact, that requestor gimme "like" for my translation. That means that he understand me and satisfied with my translation, so... I've had it. Officially. But there's nothing I can do.

I can help you with Russian, if you want.

If I want say smth to YOU, I would tell YOU, exactly. I just say bout my vision of this situation and I shared my thoughts. It was not personal. If you want to take my words to your account - it's up to you. But my words didn't concern YOU personally.
Did you remember? I offer to you to look at my comment which I lieve before, and at that time I was surprised, why you didn't see it. I explain some things, took into account some of your thoughts, trying to be as much friendly as I can, but what did you do in response? You start to grumble as if I insulted your innermost feelings. If you think that you know Russian better then me (no matter, what you saying after that talk), - it's up to you. If you think that you can handle it better then me - do that.

Олег Л.Олег Л.    Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 14:19

"Пошли" и "пойдëм" mean the same (let's go!)
shall we go? = мы пойдем?

BratBrat    Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 14:59

The past makes the strongest imperative possible in literary language. The speaker supposes the action to be done as quick, as if it is already done. Example: "А ну-ка, быстро потушил сигарету!"

Treugol'nyTreugol'ny    Terça-feira, 12/09/2017 - 07:50

While you were discussing the Russian grammar, you have missed the word "рука" incorrect. It should be: "в руке". Also, every moment is eclipse of joy. Let's go with you? Let's fly away together and look from afar. We closed our eyes, rather then, closed our eyes. Its two different meanings. Hold tied on to me. It's not difficult to follow you into a whirlpool of words. I've already done it( Made a wish). Do you know about this, you, my love? I know, this guy will ignore all suggestions and corrections. Some people are like this. We all make mistakes, but to learn from them, that's what makes us human.
Thank you all for lovely critics.
