Dijeron: «Alguien vino a visitarte

The lime woman

He was a man who was lonely,
like so many use to be.
He seated always in that bar
and if the tongue was sinking in the alcohol
sometimes he was telling his friends
about a woman he never forgot.

One night when he was very drunk
they put his table against the wall,
they put a chair on the other side
and painted a woman in the lime.
They said: «Someone came to visit you
she says she hasn't see you in a while.»

They sat him on the chair and in front of him
the drawing on the wall smiled at him.
The man got so happy
by looking at the breathless figure.
«You see… who'd say»…he was babbling
«you were looking for me and I just dreamed you».

And he spoke and spoke all night long
about the dreams and how much he waited for her.
Little by little the bar was emptying
and they were always heard talking,
the friends left without knowing
if maybe they did good or bad.

The morning was bringing its warm light
and leaning with his elbow on the counter
the owner of the pub was sleeping
when he woke up and saw them passing.
She was taking off from her shoulder
the last remainders of lime.
