Maricica (NATO)

Romeno

Maricica (NATO)

Maricica vrea să plece,
Se desparte de bărbat,
Că-i bea banii și-anii trece1,
Și c-a cam2 slăbit la pat.

Sfatul satului se-adună
Să-l convingă pe bărbat,
Ține1 toți la Maricica,
El e greu de-nduplecat...
pentru că...

Refren: (x2)

N-a to... NATO, n-a tolănit-o de-ajuns3,
N-a tolănit-o de-ajuns.

Când a luat-o pe Mar'cica
De la bărbatul cel dintâi,
I-a tot promis marea cu sarea,
Tot ce i-a promis uite că nu-i!

Așa că cică fără Mari
Se mulțumește și cu-atât.
Ah, doar c-ar vrea s-o lase-n pace,
C-a tras la ea cât a putut4.

(Refren:...)

(Refren:..)

  • 1. a. b. dezacord intenționat
  • 2. cacofonie intenționată
  • 3. he didn't have enough sex with her
  • 4. he had as much sex with her as he could
Comentários do remetente:

The song is about Romania wanting to join NATO and submitting to all claims by US in order to achieve its goal. Romania is Maricica, her first husband (man) is the Soviet Union and the man is US.

Maricica (NATO)

Maricica wants to leave,
To get separed of her husband,
Because he spends money and the years go by,
And his performances in bed are going down.

The Village Counsil comes together
To convince the husband.
They’re all supporting Maricica,
He’s tough to
Because…

Chorus: (x2)

He didn’t... NATO didn’t make enough love to her,
Didn’t make enough love to her,

When he kidnapped Maricica
Away from her first husband
He promised her Heaven and Earth*,
And look now there’s nothing of all he once promised!

So he says that without Mari
He’s satisfied with what he’s got !
Oh, how he would like it to be left in peace,
Because he loved her as much as he could.

(Refrain:...)
They wonder , they all wonder:
What would he get with her? Why doesn’t he leave her?
Because she’s unfaithful, and she’s had plenty of lovers
And look how she abandoned them all, but do you want me to tell you something ?
(No.)
(Chorus:..)

Hmmm... you didn't trust me on that "cică" issue. Trust is very important in a relationship Tongue When I'm not sure, I say it, but in this case I'm 101% sure I'm right.
Așa că cică fără Mari = So he says that without Mary
Se mulțumește și cu-atât. = He’s satisfied with what he’s got !

(Plus, that "țâcă / cică" word is rather used as an appellation, like calling a child "hey, kid" = "măi țâcă")

To have enough of them - I think it means "en avoir marre".
She had (had) plenty of love(ers) ?
She'd got...
She's had...

Well, then never tell me that maybe I'm right...because I will forget about the " maybe " Tongue
But don't worry, 'cause in the end, you get the last word...

Calusarul     agosto 14th, 2012

OK, I'll no longer say maybe... but can I sing it? Tongue

Later edit: Never say never? Maybe I won't say maybe Tongue

You can always sing whatever you want to me (as long as it stays between acceptable limits...and now you're probably wondering what these limits are Tongue ) Well,...maybe I'll tell you once...but probably I'll let you find it out yourself Wink Oh, I just think these are two of the words I use the most...

Când a luat-o pe Marcica - it doesn't imply that he kidnapped or took her by force Smile he just took her away from.

P.S. I don't wonder about those limits. They are common sense limits. When we cross them, the other person gets upset and we say "sorry" or "forgive me" - because Bia and I, we have read the book called "Bunele maniere", both the children's book and the full version.
