I will keep on (fulfilling thy call) [ Vou continuar (o Teu chamado) ]

Tradução para Inglês

I will keep on (fulfilling thy call)

I have had evident proofs of thy love for me,
and those proofs are already enough for me to go all the way.
I cannot give up now, I can't and I won't
Help me, support me, with thy help I know I'll keep on
fulfilling thy call.
I do know that thy plans cannot be foiled.
Lead me, lead me, lead me O God
Lead me and teach me to be like Thou art
Remaining at thy feet
Lead me, lead me
to all the nations, I will not crumble under
the pressure.
I will keep on fulfilling thy call
I will keep on being faithful to thee, unto the end of time.

I translated some words, like your, you, in an archaic way because the song uses such words in its lyrics, it provides a sort of musicality to it. I hope everybody can understand it Regular smile

Just one little thing I spotted Teeth smile
Line 13: '...I will not shut myself up...', though I don't quite understand what you mean by this

Let me try to explain and according to the context, you might have some other suggestion. Well, the person asks God to lead him to all the nations (countries, places on the globe), and as soon as he arrives there he will not be silent before all those people speaking ill of God (...), which means the "pressure" mentioned in the song, he does not care about that, and will preach the word with or without that 'pressure'.

So... that's why I thought "shut me up" (which, according to you, it would be 'shut myself up') would be a good expression for that. What you think? Any ideas or keeps the same?

Thank you very much for your precious help!

Ohh I see now Regular smile so it has the idea of not giving up.
I'm reminded of the expression 'to crumble under pressure' which has the idea of giving up, surrendering: 'I will not crumble under the pressure...'
Or if you want a more literal translation you could use 'I will not be silent/ quiet/ be silenced before the pressure'
I think 'shut myself/me up' doesn't quite fit with the tone of the rest of the song if you know what I mean, it's a bit colloquial...

Yes, I know what you talking about Regular smile And I want to take away any kind of colloquiality, since the singer does not use it in her song Teeth smile Thank you, "not crumble under the pressure" sounds very nice, done Regular smile
