Actually we don't look at where is the artist from, but rather to which country does he serve.
Otherwise Arash would be from Sweden, Philip Kirkorov - from Bulgaria, and a half of russian scene would be from Ukraine ;)
The most of her songs are in Russian, she is a member of the russian pop-society, that's why it doesn't matter where is she from.
Let's take Sophia Rotaru. Her nation is moldavian (romanian). She was born in USSR, and Moldova was a part of it those times. She was developed as a Soviet singer, then, after USSR fell, she became a citizen of Ukraine, but the most of her songs were in Russian (though there were also in Ukrainian and Romanian). That's why I consider her as Russian singer, for she is mostly present in RUSSIAN pop-charts.
Okay, I'll ask you directly: how much money did she earn from Barbados?
P.S. I also disagree with some attachments of some artists to some countries. Again, I don't look where the artist from or where does s/he live. I look at the charts. And according to the charts, Diana Gurtskaya is DEFINITELY a russian singer.
Will whoever keeps changing the country from Georgia to Russia please stop doing that?!
Even though Diana lives in Russia now, she was born in Georgia.
