If you are asking for the purpose of translation to Persian, they both translate into Persian "baraye" but obviously you need to look at what comes next to translate it properly:
E.g. Por Favor is literally equivalent to English "For Favor" and Persian "Baraye marhemat/ niki" but obviously the correct meaning is "please" or "lotfan".

Hi Khosroxx

I know an easily trick ,maybe it will help you

when you need to answer a " question " or say a motive you should use POR --> Because (of ) - Example : I need you because I love you --> te necesito POR que te amo .

when you want to express a purpose or intention you must use PARA --> For /to
Example: you are everything to me --> Eres todo PARA mi .

(Also) for example when you say "Por el cielo" = "through the sky" and "para el cielo" = "for the sky"
___________________________ "Por tì" = "though you or because of you" and "para tì" = "for you"

So: "para" will always be "for" and "POR" will depend on the context. Wink

Dear Khosro,

This question has a very complicated answer, and the complete grammar is vast in spanish as you know. Para in most of cases means "for", but sometimes Por means "for" too, please read the text below carefully, although surely it's not complete:

Para:

1. can show the destination, the time or a goal:
salieron para la casa.
ire para el miercoles.
este libro es para mi.
trabajo para comprar una casa.
ya vamos para viejos (we are going to be old): a very intresting example....
2. standard for comparison:
para ser un estudiante, estudia poco.
3. express the opinion of some one:
para mi, para ti....

Por:
1. moving through a place:
viajare por todo el mundo
salga por esa puerta
2. duration of time or imprecise point in time:
estudio por tres horas
lo vi a las tres por la tarde
3. the same meaning of via:
envialo por correo.
4. the motivation of doing a job for someone (this must not be mistaken with para):
lo hice por mi familia (I did it for my family)
5. exchange:
Ensene la clase por el profesor: I taught the class for the teacher: it means instead of him
6. you must know these examples:
por encima de la mesa, por debajo de la silla.....
7. in passive phrases:
el libro fue escrito por khayyam.

and in addition, there are some idioms and common expression that you will know accidentally and gradually:
por fin de semana (at the end of the week): we never say para fin de semana
por lo tanto: therefore
por lo general: generally
..........
