Hmm... can't request a transliteration from video?
With the old site, I was able to post a video to a song and then request a transliteration of it:

I just embedded the video where the original lyrics should go, and then it let me post a request (originally, I requested English since we didn't have the transliteration option at the time, but now I've updated it).
Now when I try to do the same thing, I cannot request a transliteration (or any kind of translation) because it tells me the original lyrics are "too short." ...Huh?? Not having the lyrics... that's kind of the point of a transliteration, am I right?

Instead of embedding the video where the original lyrics should go, I also just tried posting it in the "video" link... but then it would not allow me to leave the lyrics blank.
Also, it seems weird to me that when I try to submit a request, it asks me what language to "translate from"...? Shouldn't that already be determined by the original post?

I've always thought it would be a great feature to have here, so you've got my support 
Sciera is right, such requests should be posted in the forum now (and should have been posted before, btw). But probably we should think about a new kind of requests.
A transliteration is writing something into a different alphabet (for example from greek letters to roman letters, or from chinese kanji to kyrillic letters etc.). For doing that you obviously need the original text.
Yes, I realized my mistake after I logged off the computer, and felt stupid. It's a transcription, not a transliteration. But my question is still valid.
Well, actually, it *was* allowed under the old site design (if you look at the old song I posted). I understand the reason for the anti-spam filter not allowing short posts, but it should be able to recognize that what is being posted is a video link. That's been changed now that we have a specific place to post video links, however - this in itself does not prevent spam, as in either case, an unrelated video could also be posted by a spammer.
So... I see it as more beneficial to the users than the threat of spam.
If I post a request for an Estonian transcription in the forum (which technically ends up going under 'all other languages'), I guarantee it will be pushed down into oblivion and never answered. This is why I prefer to post under the requests section, where it will always remain visible.
And, what I wrote above is the same answer for this...
If Estonian was as popular a language as others, it would not be such a problem - but in this case I disagree with requesting the transcriptions through the forum. Two of mine were answered via the normal requests.
I don't remember that there ever was a possibility to do that - normally people ask for things like that in the forum.

The reason why it says "too short." is because we added a filter to stop at least some spam a few months ago.
I think it's not a bad idea to allow requests for lyrics you can't find on the internet. On the other hand I really don't like lyrics that are just written down by listening and not taken from an official source (well, when there simply is no official source then it's a different thing).
