The flower at my teeth
I spent my youth like a hand of small change
I did a little bit of everything, a kind of everywhere, not knowing how to do anything
The flower at my teeth was all I had
But I knew well that all the world women were waiting for me
There are the girls that we dream of
And the ones that we sleep with
There are the girls that we regrets
And the ones who leave remorses
There are the girls that we love
And the ones that we could have loved
Then one day there is the woman
That we have been waiting for
I knew campbeds much softer than a pillow
And king's banquet on the counter of a railway station cafe
I knew many people, I liked them all a lot
But in their faces in fact I was just looking for you
There are the girls that we dream of
And the ones that we sleep with
There are the girls that we regrets
And the ones who leave remorses
There are the girls that we love
And the ones that we could have loved
Then one day there is the woman
That we have been waiting for
One day here, the other there, one day rich and the other not
I was hungry to see everything, to know everything, I had so much to do
Making mistakes in choosing the way so many times
However I ended up finding the one that leads to you
There are the girls that we dream of
And the ones that we sleep with
There are the girls that we regrets
And the ones who leave remorses
There are the girls that we love
And the ones that we could have loved
Then one day there is the woman
That we have been waiting for

"La fleur aux dents" (the flower in my teeth or the the flower at my teeth) is a French colloquial expression that means "enjoying life with a smile, not worrying about anything". I kept the words but you have to think it means all that ;-)
Great song about life, as only Joe Dassin knew how to sing them...
