Charles the Beetle

Deep in the forest between moss and fern
there lived a beetle by the name of Charles.
His life was disturbed suddenly,
when he heard a growling rumble.
Noisy machines taking over the forest,
soon drowning out the singing of the birds.
With sharp axes tree after tree is felled
his habitat thereby being destroyed.

Charles the Beetle wasn't asked,
he was just driven away
Charles the Beetle wasn't asked,
he was just driven away

An asphalt ribbon is spreading
demanding nature to withdraw.
A flower, that is still standing at the side of the road
is simply tarred over.
Charles has been gone long since,
there is no place for animals left.
Where Charles has once been at home,
now roam Beetles made of steel plates and sheets.

Charles the Beetle wasn't asked,
he was just driven away
Charles the Beetle wasn't asked,
he was just driven away

-Proofreading-

"his habitat being so destroyed."
-hmm... The usage of "so" here conveys emphasis. I've only seen "damit" being used as a conjunctive adverb. Perhaps something like 'his habitat thus being destroyed'

some minor fixes/suggestions:

überrollen den Wald - taking over the forest ("rolling through the forest", works too)

demands - demanding

typo: tared over = tarred over
