Tan Lines (Rusketusraidat)

Tan Lines

Things are going damn well
You ask me why I am angry
And why do I swear at pigeons through the window
(Awwh, shit happens)
I have a little secret for you
A naked guy is a new thing to me
(Oh, what's that? Really, I won't smell it!)

Let's throw away our pants and shirts
Let's take a flight
Show me where your tan lines are
Draw them on the map
Things are going damn well

My family was very old-fashioned
I couldn't get any sex education
I often wonder where to do 'it'
I'll choose train or plane

Let's throw away our pants and shirts
Let's take a flight
Show me where your tan lines are
Draw them on the map

Let's get some wine , hold on
We'll fly towards the birds in the sky
Let's get some wine

Let's throw away our pants and shirts
Let's take a flight
Show me where your tan lines are
Draw them on the map

NOTE
The fourth line, 'rapatessa roiskuu', is a Finnish proverb. Literally translated it means 'there will always be splatter when mortar is spread', but an English equivalent would be 'shit happens' or 'you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs'.

I don't know if rapatessa roiskuu means two things, but in English, Shit Happens and You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs don't mean the same thing. Shit happens means bad things happen and Making an omelette without breaking eggs means you can't get to a certain point without taking risks.

Oh, thank you. But rapatessa roiskuu can be translated in many ways and it has several meanings. It means that bad things happen, but life goes on and you should learn from your mistakes - you have to take risks and allow the unexpected to happen.

However, rapatessa roiskuu is often used in situations where one would say 'Oh well, shit happens'.
