Hello everyone
I've just noticed that the website includes both Iranian language and Persian language. I'm just wondering, given that Persian is the official language in Iran, aren't they same the same thing? Because if so, both contents should be merged. Does anyone on here know about it for certain? Thank you.

Actually the language used in Iran (Persia) is called Farsi, and what I know is that it is the only language used there.
btw this is the arabic language thread so it is a totally different language Wink

Hope I helped a bit.

Thank you for your reply, rere99, I understand better now Smile
PS - Including this topic in the Arabic section was a mistake, sorry Tongue

Hi there,

Farsi is just Arabic pronunciation for Parsi which is the exact same as Persian. They are different names of ONE language.
Arabic doesn't have the letter 'P' so they couldn't pronounce Parsi correctly and called it Farsi.
