A Girl Against a Girl

Spanska

A Girl Against a Girl

There's nothing wrong
With two women holding hands
But the shade changes
Once they do it under the tablecloths
Then alone, without a thing to lose
First the hands, then the rest of the skin

A love to hide
And though they can't do it when in their bare skin
They conceal it as friendship
When they go talke a walk through town

One believes what they do is wrong
The other says it can't be helped
And what the others think doesn't matter

Who is to stop two doves in flight
When they're flying low against the ground?
A girl against a girl

I won't be the one
To throw the first stone at them
If I took the wrong chance
And found them kissing in the room

I wouldn't even dare cough
If I don't want to do what should be done
And so they use my stones to build a wall

Who is to stop two doves in flight
When they're flying low against the ground?
A girl against a girl

One believes what they do is wrong
The other says it can't be helped
And what the others think doesn't matter

Who is to stop two doves in flight
When they're flying low against the ground?
A girl against a girl

Who is to stop two doves in flight
When they're flying low against the ground?
A girl against a girl

Pretty good trasnlation, the only thing is that the translation for

Is a bit confusing. It´s not clear what is it that "should be done". I think something like

"If I don´t care to join, I know what I should do,
for they will build their wall with my stones".

Will reflect the idea behind the text more accurately.

This part..
"Si no gusto ya sé lo que hay que hacer...
should not this mean..
"If you do not like I know what to do..
just wondering??

It´s a bit of an outdated expression. Normally, when you wanted to ask someone if s/he would like to try something (usualy, food), a person would say "¿Gustas?" ("Would you like some"?), and one could reply "Sí, gusto" or "No, no gusto" for yes and no. In certain latin american countries, "Gusto de+something" can also be used to indicate that you like or enjoy something (from the Portuguese "Eu gusto moito de...", and Galician also has that same expression. This is the sense in which it´s used here.

So, when the narrator sees the two women kissing, she implies that "Si no gusta"- If she won´t like (to join), then she knows what she should do (leave quietly and not cast more "stones" so that both women can keep building a wall with them).

I understand now thank you very much for a good explanation.
