Isabelle

For a long time now my heart was retired
and I never thought seeing it awaking again
but at the sound of your voice I raised my head once more
and love has recaptured me before I had time to think about it
Isabelle... my love

Like a camel slipping through the eye of the needle
love has infiltrated, has crept under my skin
with such an insistence and with such a force
that I haven't found since neither peace nor rest
Isabelle... my love

The hours beside you flee like seconds
the days away from you resemble years
that give to my love an end of days taste
they trouble my body as well as my mind
Isabelle... my love

You're living in the light and me in dark corners
because you're dying to live and me I'm dying of love
I'd be content just by caressing your shadow
if you'd like offering me your destiny forever
Isabelle... my love

Thank you much very for your feedback
"between a rock and a hard place" means in a very difficult situation where you're out of options, which isn't the meaning of the french expression; it's more like to be were you don't belong so "poke one's nose into other people's business" seems closer although still not equivalent. Maybe I'll think of something else later on

Thanks again
I suppose then the closest idiom is to get under one's skin, but it's used right next

Thanks, I've entered the phrase "coincé entre le bois et l'écorce" should you want to explain it
