Frozen Strawberries

My girlfriend's sent me to get her red strawberries,
I'm not allowed to come back without them, so I'm standing there worried.
Masses of snow, wind is blowing, it's really chilly,
Is she trying to get rid of me easily like this?

She's forgotten about frozen strawberries, my friends,
about frozen strawberries packed in a plastic film.
She's forgotten about frozen strawberries, my friends,
about frozen strawberries packed in a plastic film.

Story like from a fairy-tale1,
didn't want to tell me goodbye, now she wishes I ran away.
I could come back easily, I know, though, she's not waiting for me,
she could've told me straightaway she loves someone else.

She's forgotten about frozen strawberries, my friends,
about frozen strawberries packed in a plastic film.
She's forgotten about frozen strawberries, my friends,
about frozen strawberries,
packed in a plastic film.
She's forgotten about frozen strawberries, my friends,
about frozen strawberries,
packed in a plas...

  • 1. The original Czech lyrics refers to a well-known Czech fairy-tale called "O dvanácti měsíčkách" (Of Twelve Months) written by Božena Němcová. In this fairy-tale, an evil stepmother Holena tells her kind-hearted stepdaughter Maruška to bring her strawberries, blueberries and apples in the middle of a cold winter. Maruška manages to obtain all the fruits thanks to the help of the twelve magical brothers (The Months) each one of which symbolises one month of the year. Every time she visits them, the respective brother temporarily summons a little piece of their month (in which the fruits Maruška has to bring home grow).
