There are loves
Ay! My love(1), what wouldn't I do for you?
To have you only a second, far away from the world
and closer to me.
Ay! My love, like the Magdalena river(2)
That is lost(3) to the sands of the sea,
I want to lose myself in you.
There are loves that become resilient to any damage.
Like wine that improves after the years,
That's how what I feel for you grows.
There are loves that wait until winter and then blossom.
And in the nights of autumn turn green again (4)
Just the like the love I feel for you.
Ay, my love, don't you forget the sea
That every night has seen me cry
So many memories of you.
Ay, my love, don't you dare forget the day
that separated your life,
from the wretched life I had to live.
There are loves that become resilient to any damage.
Like wine that improves after the years,
That's how what I feel for you grows.
There are loves that seem like they are ending and then blossom.
And in the nights of autumn turn green again
Just the like the love I feel for you.
I for you... for you... that's the type of love I feel for you.

Як підтримати Україну 🇺🇦 ❤️
1. Bien means good. However, she is singing this using a Colombian idiom in which mi bien becomes either my dear or my love. So I'm using love for this translation.
2. Most important river in Colombia where the river boats in the movie and book (Love in The Time of Cholera) sailed.
3. Funde here is another Colombian idiom coming from refundir.. meaning to lose something. The Magdalena river ends up dumping into the ocean. That's the metaphor here. She is the river, the person she loves is her ocean.
4. Reverdecer is a verb that refers to plants turning green again. Which is the opposite of what happens in Autumn. There's no verb for this in English so I just chose what sounded the least awkward.
