Vimto,
Difficult task you have chosen. I respond to your points, see if it helps:
2/ Good. "samples" is not a Spanish word. Any other non-Spanish word, leave in the original
3/ you can use "style" (in style/fashion)
4/ I make plans
5/ He/she is talking about his/her vision of Havana. Maybe something "no one else has seen" before
6/ I never heard "parte pana" or the translation you give to the expression
7/ I would say "more labelled souls
8/ No. "sit" doesn't go in this context; "siento" is correct
9/ "persue stability" goes together, no comma
10/11/ I would leave all these words in the original
12/ "palabreos" = empty talk
13/ Good. Besides, it goes better without the pronouns
stanza 3/ "you call debts", no comma
stanza 11, last line/ don't use the article (the). Articles haven't been use in the whole song. Just " paths are wild, are ... are
They are just words. Not too much explanation. Good exercise to build -up vocabulary.
Good luck to you!
3/ I found that it can mean 'dar forma a algo' too so could I translate it as 'I shape'? (just cos I think it sounds better)
4/ I like it, changed
5/I was thinking it was a play on '7th heaven' or something...
6/ I got it from here: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=174033
7/ hmm 'labelled souls' is too literal and doesn't really convey the meaning in the spanish imo, isn't 'marcado' used here to mean affected/touched/moved?
12/ I changed it to 'small talk'
Thanks for your suggestions :)
Something I forgot:
"hora punta" is a new expression. I don't know where it came from but, there is an american movie entitled "Rush hour" that, in Spain, was translated "Hora punta".
Another
I think that the idea of "almas marcadas" has to do with been put in a black list.
Si hubiera alguna forma de distinguir la parte en infinitivo de la parte en imperativo, estaría bien (pero poner "to" al principio de cada palabra queda algo estúpido, y un "you" en el imperativo no cuadra bien por el resto de la canción). Hmm... ¿Quizá usando present participle en vez de infinitive?
Better prepare to use Ctrl+F, because if I start to number verses I'm gonna get so lost:
·"micro imanta" -> "micro magnetises"? (judging by conjugation. If I heard this, I'd say it doesn't mean anything). "Micro" can also mean "mike", as in "microphone".
·"samples" means "samples" and roster31 gave you a good suggetion xD (I guess this means the sound samples that mark the beats)
·There is an extra line break between "[...] dramas, jokes, sorrows," and "parties"
·You forgot to change "I shake off" for "I style" and "stirred" for "blacklisted" (I don't know what "marcadas" means here, even in Spanish)
·"dudas, sumas, restas" could either be "Doubts, additions, substractions" or "you doubt, you add, you substract", but I'd go with the latter.
·slow(ly): nice catch.
·"apañar(se)" is polysemic, "apañarse" means "to manage to do something" but "apañar" means something like "to take bits in front of you to yourself"... and many others. I'm not sure if I defined this right, but I think this meaning is close than the one you have.
·"falla" -> "snap"? Wouldn't it be "have mistakes" or "err"?
·You could use the same note to explain Technics and Shures, or you could include the meaning in the lyrics, but better if you do the same for both.
·I don't know if "España atiende" is "Spain take care" or "Spain takes care". (damn ambiguous conjugation)
·sucios -> you could go with "dirty" (as in "naughty") - to express "shameful vices" one would use other word.
·celos -> jealousy
·"There's isn't a better moment": crazy informal English, or typo? ;)
·Men, women: good choice. Just lowercase Women.

sí pensé en utilizar el gerundio en el inglés y ahora lo he pensado otra vez y pienso que suena mejor :)

I got lost in your comment xD

hmm I hate this word...I don't think I'd go for 'micro magnetiseS' cos the rest of the verbs in that line are in the imperative so I'm just gonna keep with that pattern

I don't understand :/ is there are synonym in spanish?
ArenaL5 написав:"falla" -> "snap"? Wouldn't it be "have mistakes" or "err"?
changed it to 'go wrong' don't know where I got 'snap' from...
ArenaL5 написав:"celos -> jealousy
aren't 'jealousy' and 'envy' the same thing pretty much? I only chose the latter cos it's a shorter word (you know to keep up with the rhythm of the song xDDD)

typo :P

I think I'm gonna lowercase men too ;)
also have you heard of the expression 'parte pana'?

If you type Ctrl+F in any browser (I think any of them works) you can search for text in the page you are viewing. I use Firefox and it's really convenient.

Makes sense.
Цитата:I don't understand :/ is there are synonym in spanish?
Eh? No. What did you ask? You lost me xD
Either they're homonyms, or it's just a polysemic word; don't know which.
But I'm almost sure "apaña" doesn't mean "get by" there (maybe "steal" or "scrap"?).
Цитата:aren't 'jealousy' and 'envy' the same thing pretty much? I only chose the latter cos it's a shorter word (you know to keep up with the rhythm of the song xDDD)
Jealousy is personal. Sure, if you have jealousy you have envy, but... can you be jealous of someone because of winning the lottery?
Цитата:also have you heard of the expression 'parte pana'?
Long time no see that one, I think it really never caught up in my place...
By the way, "pana" is pretty much only used for trousers...
...but I'm not sure if that's the image everyone has in mind or I'm just being dirty.
