Когда я был большим - я не боялся машин

  • 2. From ~2003 to 2010 Makarevich was married to a woman named Natalya Golub, this is from the 1989 to 2000 Album. So makes sense
  • 3. Funny I’m listening to IOWA’s Улыбайся while translating this and she says Salvador Dali in this song as well -_-
  • 4. According to Pinchus, Illyich (Illyuch) is referring to a Lenin here (most likely), so take your pike : Vladimir Lenin, the famed Marxist who didn't want Stalin in power but somehow forgot he put Stalin in power and then died of a stroke OR Leonid Brezhnev, who died of a heart attack and was one of the SSSR's innumerable leaders before Gorbechev

  • 8. Okay trivia time! Remember my translation of “Сосевка” and who performed? Maxim Leonidov and Andrey Makarevich. Well, Maxim Leonidov is a performer on the Soviet Rock band “Sekret” (Секрет), so again, keep this in mind when thinking about the meaning of the song
  • 9. This is a reference to Boris Grebenschikov and a song of his.
  • 10. A famous Italian Composer
  • 11. Moshe Dayan was the defense minister of Israel, while Saddam, well, was the dictator of Iraq
  • 12. Agam is a ghost town in Azerbaijan. Also a port wine from the said city that is now a ghost town. Take this line how you like.

So hello fellow KomЯade, let me clear a couple of points.
First, number 4 is none other than the a-mighty ever-living Ilyich himself, the line is about him being treated by the titular character from all those nasty diseases.
7. Played for pun here, but "to swallow an arshin" means to suddenly stop and stand still, as if one swallowed something arshin-sized and couldn't make a move.
12. Agdam here likely stands for cheap Azerbaijani portwein, consumed by lower class.
Also, a couple of grammatical errors: one line roughly translates to "Chumak checked me, but said nothing". So, it wasn't the guy who tried to cure himself by watching Chumak on TV, but rather Chumak himself had paid a visit. The other line is really “my wife was presented with Magadan and Voodoo Island". Screw those cases, I know.
Oh, and the second line is "My dad is a snow leopard" really. Nothing about Mars. Happy V-day, we all did our part in 45.

Тут на самом деле еще много нужно футнотов, и в тексте осталось несколько забавных ошибок. Смешнее всего читать футнот: "Vladislav Tretiak is the president of Russian Ice Hockey."

Not sure when I'll get around to fixing this. I'm burnt out right now, with the pandemic, my depression coming back full-swing, I've got a computer project for someone I'm working on, and with me set to graduate college this spring, I'm juggling finishing off and moving on with my life and a pandemic on top of a lot of mental health issues I'm just graced with having. Needless to say I have lost almost all my motivation recently and can only find simple tasks that can motivate me, or computer repair/maintenance job. It's why I haven't posted a translation in almost over a month. I know I said I was going to fix it, and I tried. But I just started to lose motivation and interest in fixing the translation which isn't like me. It may be another month, it could be two. I'm really sorry for leaving something with so many mistakes like this and not fixing it, I just don't feel compelled to work on it and I don't want to fuck it up more than it already is. I hope people will understand me here, and hopefully, these comments will be more useful than I can be right now.

9. BG here isn't Bee Gees but Boris Grebenschikov, I swear as a fan of both Makarevich and BG. :-) There's a line in his song "Сталь" - "Нарисуй на стене моей то, чего нет" (Paint on my wall the thing that doesn't exist) so Andrey just citate his old friend's song.
