"On you converged a sliver of white light" What the original phrase actually means is : You are one and only in the world , or there is no one like you in the world. It has nothing to do with light, be it white or silver. "Я могла бы только гордость не дает". Someone, she is in love with, disappeared around the corner, (left her) She could've followed him around the corner. She could've run around the corner to be with him, but her pride wouldn't let her. So, this line " But I would only be able to give my pride", doesn't make any sense.
