Caracara
Caracara
In the backcountry there
It's a creature flies like an airplane
It's a mean bird
With a crooked beak like a hawk's
Caracara
When it sees the scorched crop
It flies away, screeching,
Caracara
Going on a hunt
Caracara eat charred snake even
When the chill weather comes
In the backcountry there's no more scorched crop
Caracara don't starve though
The little mules born in the plains
Caracara
Gonna snatch, kill and eat
Caracara
Not gon' starve
Caracara
Got more guts than men
Caracara
Gonna snatch, kill and eat
Caracara is mean, is a bully
It's the eagle there of my backcountry
The little mule colts can't wander off
It's gonna yank on their belly 'till they dead
Caracara
Gonna snatch, kill and eat
Caracara
Not gon' starve
Caracara
Got more guts than men
Caracara

Caracara (Caracara plancus) or southern crested caracara is a falconidae bird of prey native to South America.
"Backcountry" is an approximate translation of 'sertão', a type of sub-equatorial semi-arid region in northeast Brazil, similar to the Australian outback.
A lot of words or phrasing in the original lyrics are written "wrong", as in, they emulate the dialect associated with rural populations and/or of little formal education. This was approximated in the translation when possible.
