we come today, holy virgin,
to raise our request before you.
We bring in our breasts

"huasteco/a" usually refers to the Huastec people (or their language) but here it means the area that they inhabited during the late Mayan period (now occupied mostly by Nahuatl people, not by Mayan Huastecs) which is an area of about 12500 square miles along the Gulf coast from the Cazones river in the south to the Sierra de Tamaulipas in the north
- 3. literally: "slaves of your devotion"

I am glad.
La Huasteca comes first, the language comes after, I think:
La Huasteca is a geographical and cultural region located in Mexico along the Gulf of Mexico which includes parts of the states of Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Puebla, ...
Skip "the", you don't need it.

Thanks for the suggestion - I think that would be a bit clumsy in English, it would make it sound as if "there" was where they were called to, but it really does seem sensible to try to express "hasta" somehow. I think "even as far away as there" is much too long, but most people would undersand "even there" as meaning that since the distance was just mentioned in an earlier line.
