Volga River (Волга-реченька)

Volga River

النسخ: #1#2#3
Vol, Volga ri, Volga river, deep and free,
Come, come I, come I to you with heart so sore
My, my beloved friend, friend is far from me
(You), (you) run, (you) run and find him on your shore

(You), (you) run, (you) run, hurry straight and true
My friend, word to my, word to my friend send on your wave
Like, like an arrow to him fly, you
Word, take a word from me, of love

You, you tell him, you tell him of my grief
How, how I am, how for him I am in torment
Say, say, (oh,) I weep without relief
Tear, tears (flow), my tears (flow), a river never spent

Flow, flows the ri, flows the river, yes Volga moans
While, while I brea, while I break with dreadful longing
Heart, my heart groans, oh, groan, how it groans
And says, and says, and says, "Where is my darling?"

Vol, Volga ri, Volga river, deep and free,
Come, come I, come I to you with heart so sore
My, my beloved friend, friend is far from me
(You), (you) run, (you) run and find him on your shore

This is the singable version of the 'poetic' version #1. It is not so much a different translation as a version of the poetic translation, expressed in a way that mirrors the repetitions of syllables, words and short phrases of the original Russian as recorded by Skolot.

I'd like to record my thanks to Sandring, who has coaxed and pushed me behind the scenes into raising the standard of this and my other translations. Thanks!
