Obwohl sich Dickinsons Gedichte oft der Analyse widersetzen, versuche ich es hier:
Mit / it / ist die Seele gemeint, die sich erheben soll. / launch / bedeutet sowohl "cause to slide from land into water" als auch "allow to pass on from mortality to the next life". Das heißt, die Seele quert z.B. in einem Nachen das Wasser hin zur Toteninsel, wie es Arnold Böcklin in seinem Gemälde darstellt. Wer "lift" und "launch" vollzogen hat, kann den / lower eyes / das / Azure / verkünden / advocate / = announce the beauties and benefits of s.o.,s.th., ja er ist sogar dazu verpflichtet.
Das in der Übertragung benutzte Verb /beut/ ist eine alte Form des Verbs "bieten".
