In the Beginning

There, in the beginning,
Eve stood, lovingly, opposite Adam
A helper opposite him, bone from his bone
Then walks Adam
Towards she about whom he dreamed
On the head of his happiness, he will raise you up with him
And he will not forget you, his beloved

No, no, no, no, it's not random
God is weaving, spinning
Threads of gold between us
This, this is the way of the Creator
To sanctify the present
With a wedding-canopy of stars above us

Time. Time stops
For moments of joy in white
The voice of hurrahs is in the wedding-canopy
Here stands a groom
He holds your hand, and he is astounded by your beauty
On the head of your happiness, you will raise up the chosen one of your heart
And he won't forget you -his beloved

No, no, no, no, it's not random
God is weaving, spinning
Threads of gold between us
This, this is the way of the Creator
To sanctify the present
With a wedding-canopy of stars above us

In holiness - you will be Wife to him
He will be your Man
And for the wreath upon your head
He will protect you and guard you
From defeat, storms, and cold
Through nights of love
He will be a peace

No, no, no, no, it's not random
God is weaving, spinning
Threads of gold above us

In the beginning of the world...

This song's beauty cannot be conveyed in translation. It contains many references to the Bible and to Jewish tradition (such as the wedding-canopy), which do not carry the same resonance in English at all.

מאז צועד אדם would be translated as "Since then" not then.
