Hi! Please help me to understand one line in this song:
https://lyricstranslate.com/en/itay-levi-hiyuch-katan-חיוך-קטן-lyrics.ht...

I understand all the song but this one line:
מאמי, מחפשים כותרות ופותחים מגירות נשבר לי

I inderstand it's literal translation as follows:
"Honey, we search headlines and open drawers, l'm tired", but in the context of the whole song it doesn't make sence to me. I guess there should be some other meaning in this words, hidden from someone who is not native. Please help me to get it! I would appreciate that!

I think I figured it out!

He talks about people from the OUTSIDE trying to sabotage his relationship with the girl, like the paparazzi or the press.

So he says something like, "Honey, they're searching for headlines and opening drawers, I'm sick of this!"

Meaning that she's so dear to him that even if someone would try and sabotage their relationship, he'll still be hers and unafraid.

The girl seems to be very worried, all the while he's trying to calm her down, assuring her he loves only her.

Thank you very much, Thomas! It seems to me I'm getting the picture. Still a bit unclear about the drawers. Can it mean that they (paparazzi) are looking for compromising material, for dirty laundry so to speak?

Thank you Thomas! I appreciate your help!

Yes, exactly! A drawer is something that is considered to contain personal things (more like a nightstand, you know?).

We have these sayings in Hebrew, like "Writing for the drawer", meaning writing poetry and the like without telling anyone. Or "Time to take my dream out of the drawer".

You're welcome, my friend! And by the way, I'm still analyzing "אתה חייב למות עליי". It's a lot harder than I thought...

Thank you so much, Thomas! Now it's so clear to me! I'm almost done with translating the song to Russian. And thank you for your help with "אתה חייב למות עליי" - dictionaries often are useless, only a native can give a real help. And your help is just great here, thank you very much, Thomas!
