What lights the sky up

You said, we're losing
The strongest and most beautiful sons of the city
(It shines letters over the city)
(It shines letters over the city)

You know we have to move on
And it shines, as will we
(Shining letters over the city)
(Shining letters over the city)

I apologize for everything
What I left behind in ruins
But not for my education
And not for this song
When the beat goes off

I've been in a fight with god
I've told demons what I don't like
(It shines letters over the city)
(It shines letters over the city)

It's a good feeling
To say, that we'll still know eachother in ten years
(It shines letters over the city)
(It shines letters over the city)

I walk without regrets
I walk without fear
I will tell everyone about it
And everyone will understand

We remember everything
Every gesture, every word
(And I'm going to tell you
There's nothing that you miss)

I never asked for permission
I was just wondering where you are

I walk without regrets
I walk without fear

It shines letters over the city
That has made me a man
And what lights the sky up is:
One of the last great friendships in the world

Greet everyone you know
I have tamed the things
And what lights the sky up is:
One of the last great friendships in the world

Nice translation! This is one of my favourite German songs :) Two suggestions:
Es leuchten Buchstaben über der Stadt = Letters shine over the city
("Es leuchten Buchstaben..." literally means "There are letters shining...")

Und es scheint, als wären wir = And it seems as if we were
(Scheinen can mean both to shine and to seem.)

Some nitpicking: "everything that (instead of "what") I left behind in ruins", "each other" instead of "eachother"
