which field? I just changed the artist field to make sure it wasn't that.

As an editor, I can change the artist and a title of a song, but the artist must already exist. If I just changed the artist name to "Park Sang Joon", when I hit save, that field would be highlighted in red and an error

would appear. So I uploaded This song will be deleted in order to create the artist page for Park Sang Joon. (Is there a way to create an artist without songs?)
I can delete my own translations, but I can't delete any original lyrics, not even the ones I submitted myself. (There is no Delete button where it should be)
You can't delete a song as it will cause removal of all related translation. It was done to prevent translations loss.
Also there's no way to create a new artist without songs besides the workaround you've used.
There is another workaround if you have editor powers. You can take a random songless artist and rename it. Or you can upload a song from another artist but labeled with a different name, and then move the song to its correct place.
Maybe I should've chosen the first one. I think that I've tampered with someone's content page. ^^;
Also, out of curiosity: can admins edit the "submitted by" info? Lately I found some translations that were uploaded like they were the actual songs, so I had to move upload them correctly under my account. (and edit the original lyrics in)
In all of this examples I edited the original lyrics. The details are written in the "Submitter's comment" or "Author comment" field. Write back if you don't understand something.
