I ~not a Japanese speaker~ often check if they have an English Wikipedia page. Their social media also helps, in case they do it. Instagram and official websites are often helpful for that matter.
But when it isn't available, I ask a native which would be the adequate transliteration.
All would be good, as we have no official rule for that. Specially now that we have the Alias field(s).
I really don't know which way it best fits. From my personal perspective, either sounds fine to me as long as the pronounciation is correct. I guess the same goes for every language that doesn't share the same alphabet system with English.

I usually write the name however it's written on artists' Wikipedia page. So if it were me I'd write the first one.
I have also seen that those two forms they have said are the ones used, so thank you very much for your opinions
