Need

Do not let the longing for the white radiance
of the lotus,
captivate you in the swamps
Behold, canoe's eyes
are crying,
Needing your steps

Necesidad

Of course, my suggestions were to make her poem sound more poetic as well, I just gave her the two above given that she seemingly did not seek to rhyme at all. But your translation/adaptation is fantastic.

Yes, yes I saw it Regular smile I love those short poems because you could make beautiful translations and poems even singable translations. With a long song it's a true challenge and that's why I made literal translations also, the beauty of the Spanish language is that you could "play" with beautiful words/verbs such as: plañir, amar, tintineo, efímero, enternecer, inexorable and much more. With words like that an incredible song or poem emerge without having any "brain teaser"
